Extruded rubber is a very good method of compounding and curing rubber when the desired end product can be run in continuous lengths of the same cross section. Like shapes die cut or fabricated from sheet rubber, tooling costs are relatively low, and the process is very versatile insofar as rubber compound and configuration ranges go. Extruding can often be combined with other post-cure processes like cutting to length, punching holes, die-cutting notches, vulcanizing, and post extrusion molding, making it a good alternative to rubber molding in many cases.

Ames Industrial has a very versatile and wide range of extrusion capabilities. Small cost-effective orders as well as large volume orders can be produced in a surprisingly short turn-around time. In fact, many standard O-ring cord orders can be shipped the same day they are received!

Whether you require a custom fabricated product, compound or a standard rubber extrusion, Ames Industrial is your one stop extrusion source. We have four extrusion lines with one dedicated to Silicone continuous run products with hot air vulcanization.

Our in-house machining capacity for standard and custom die blanks gives us the ability to quickly fine-tune your extrusion to your exacting specifications.

We use our HAV and four steam autoclaves ranging from 6 ft to 50 ft for extrusion curing. We can extrude up to 8 inch tubing and profiles.

Ames Industrial carries a huge assortment of standard sized O-Rings. From 1/32" ID to 20" ID, in a variety of elastomers, we have the right seal for nearly every application. Our molding department can manufacture seals in custom sizes or from special materials. We even manufacture large sizes for tanks and other special applications by splicing tubing, extrusion, or cord stock.
