Our in-house machining capabilities allows us to create custom die profiles to meet your design needs and or to quickly fine-tune your existing extrusion dies to your exacting specifications.
Ames Industrial has a very versatile and wide range of extrusion capabilities. Small cost-effective orders as well as large volume orders can be produced in a surprisingly short turn-around time. In fact, many standard O-ring cord orders can be shipped the same day they are received.

Splicing of Extrusion
In many cases, running the extrusion is only the first step in our customer’s requirements. Hot vulcanized and cold bonded splicing is also available to meet the finishing requirements of our customer’s needs.
Precision extrusion and spliced products offer an ideal, cost-effective sealing solution for many applications.
These include:
Low-closure force seals
Large diameter profiles that cannot be molded
Large diameter sealing areas where spliced rings are more cost effective than molding
Hollow cross-section cord or requirements for non-standard O-rings and other extruded profiles with an inside diameter larger than 2.500 inches.
Features and advantages of spliced extrusions
Superior hot vulcanization capability for high bond integrity.
Cold bonding where less bond integrity is needed.
No tooling required for standard O.D. / I.D. combinations.
Exclusive use of quality, sealing-grade materials.
Ease of adjusting closure force by adjustment of cross-section design, C/S I.D. or durometer.
Hollow cross-sections are excellent replacements for foam or sponge gaskets, offering superior compression set resistance.
Interference-fit designs with asymmetrical solid or hollow cross-sections for ease of assembly in seal grooves without adhesives or mechanical retainers.
Low-cost option for static face or radial face seal O-rings over 2.500” I.D.
Can be used in non-standard grooves.
